I successfully compiled SUIF on a Sparc running some unknown version
of Solaris, and the changes necessary were included in SUIF 1.0.
Could you be more specific about the problems you're having?

As the Release Notes mention, SUIF has been compiled on a SPARC
running Solaris, but a bug in GNU g++ 2.5.8 causes all the programs to
crash immediately.  As far as we are aware, nobody has gotten past
that problem.  The bug is reported to be new in g++ 2.5.8, so using
g++ 2.5.7 should avoid that bug.  We don't know what other problems
there might be, on Solaris, though, since nobody has tried this.

SUIF definitely does compile on SunOS.

Incidentally, if you're just installing the system, you might want to
get version 1.0.1, a bug fix release we announced last night.  A patch
is available by annonymous FTP:
suif.Stanford.EDU:/pub/suif/suif-1.0-to-1.0.1.patch.  This won't fix
anything Solaris-specific, but you'll have fewer problems later on
when you are running SUIF on large benchmark programs.
